Conflict Resolution: Eddie Hareven, Owner, EJH Conflict Management
Breakout Session Description: This breakout session would introduce participants to the Intentional Conflict Practice Framework, which provides tools for identifying escalation in ourselves and others in moments of stress or tension and utilizing the appropriate tool to de-escalate the situation. Using small group activities and role-playing exercises, participants will get a hands-on learning experience in navigating and managing a conflict. Participants will leave with multiple tools they can implement immediately in their day-to-day professional and personal life.
Eddie’s bio: I bring a decade of experience in group process and facilitation, learning and development, and conflict mediation. My approach to conflict management and communication strengthening utilizes preventative and verbal approaches such as emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and escalation minimizing language and behaviour. I support people in working through conflict, fostering self-awareness, developing healthier communication practices, and encouraging self-empowerment through accessible, participatory, and non-judgemental engagement.
Negotiation Q&A: Susie Maloney, President, BluBonsai Negotiations
Breakout Session Description: Following her REDTalk presentation in the morning, Susie will be available to facilitate a Q&A and open discussion on negotiation tactics and practical scenarios faced by Advisors in their day-to-day business, helping them further develop their skills by examining real world scenarios.
Susie’s Bio: President of BluBonsai Negotiations and a member of the DAS SWAT team for commercial transactions, Susie is highly trained in the areas of negotiation and influencing strategy and process. Through using Tactical Empathy, she focuses on reaching the Preferred Outcome by craftfully persuading the other party to willingly choose our preferred outcome as their own.
Often described by clients as their best kept secret, Susie works both the front lines and behind the scenes, around the world with governments, the largest of multi-nationals and conglomerates on high stakes interactions often resolving difficult, multi-lateral issues involving diverse stakeholders with disparate needs.
The tools and techniques, models and frameworks are grounded in research and theory, born from behavioral science and psychology then honed and refined through a highly practical experience-based approach. Susie doesn’t teach nice theories – she discovers fundamental concepts through practical application and the analysis of what works.
She is an adored Keynote Speaker, a frequent Lecturer and Adjunct Professor at the Business School level and an esteemed Judge for the Halloum Negotiation Competition at UC Berkeley, California.
She is in the final stages of publishing her first book titled W.I.N. (Women In Negotiation) . W.I.N. is an in-depth analysis and overview of the many ways women can successfully influence and achieve a successful negotiation. W.I.N. examines 5 key negotiation bedrock concepts, what characteristics skilled negotiators exhibit with respect to those concepts and the distinct advantages women have to win in the negotiation arena.
Her ability to see the indisputable uniqueness’ women bring to the influencing process and how they are strengths – or can be – in the negotiation milieu is a great provoking presentation. Susie lives with her husband and two children in San Francisco, California Susie speaks English and French and was on the Canadian Olympic Equestrian Reserve Team 1992.

Back by popular demand! Running concurrently with the afternoon breakout sessions will be a two-hour dedicated admin session for staff and Advisor/Team Admins to allow for collaboration, tools and knowledge sharing, professional development and open conversations on challenges and benefits of working within and without the Engel & Völkers tools and framework. The goal for this session is to focus on admin specific issues and learning, as well as sharing concrete suggestions for what Engel & Völkers can do to make the admin experience better. Leading Admins from within EV will be facilitating this discussion, along with Erin Dooley, EV Ottawa, and Cindy Bickle, EV Americas.
